It was another good day for Mercedes and Ferrari, with Bottas finishing fastest, a couple of tenths ahead of Sebastian Vettel. Today was a much better for most of the teams. Every driver managed a good amount of laps and there were no signifcant reliability woes. Mercedes and Ferrari were again at the top and it can be fairly certain that they will go into Australia as the two quickest cars. It was also a much better day for Red Bull, who finished third with Daniel Ricciardo clocking up 70 laps. It is hard to say if Red Bull have shown their true pace yet and according to Gary Anderson, he feels that there is still improvement to come from all the Renault engined cars. It was a strong showing for Renualt who finished fourth and fifth with Palmer and Hulkenberg both driving. They managed 93 laps between and will be pleased with their pace. In perhaps the best performance of the day was Sauber, with Marcus Eriksson managing 126 laps (only Vettel beat him in terms of number of laps). This will be a huge boost for Sauber and shows that they have a good car. With Hamilton doing race simulation in the afternoon he finished in seventh, but showed great consitency in his lap times. In a slightly disappointing day for Haas, after Magnussen's impressive showing yesterday they finished eighth and only completed 56 laps. Williams once again ran Lance Stroll. After damaging his front wing yesterday, the young Canadian ideally needed a trouble free day. This he achieved for the most part, though he did have a spin at the end of the morning session. However, he crashed in the afternoon session at the exit of turn 5 and damaged the front of the FW40. It is unclear exactly how much damage he has done to the car. It was a far more postive day for Fernando Alonso, as his McLaren managed to 72 laps, more then the car has done over the first two days. This will be a relief to both McLaren and Honda, especially as Honda have already apologised for troubles over the first two days. Toro Rosso managed 63 laps between their two drivers who finished eleventh and thirteenth. Force India reserve driver, Alfonso Celis finished twelth and completed 71 laps. Tomorrow sees the official wet weather test. 1 V. Bottas Mercedes 1:19.705 (75)
