It has been announced that both Harrison Newey and Max Gunther will return to FIA Formula 3 Championship for this season. It has been announced that 2017 MRF Champion Harrison Newey has singed to stay with Van Amersoort Racing for another year. It was a hard year for the young Brit last year having finished runner up in the then BRDC Formula 4 Championship (now British F3) in 2015. Having won the MRF Challenge this winter, it will be a huge boost for Newey and will hopefully allow him to show his full potential.
Also returning is Max Gunther who finished runner up last year. He will continue to drive with champions, Prema PowerTeam. It will be a critical year for Gunther, as this will be third year in the series and realistically he needs to win the championship this year. This will not be easy however as there some great drivers he will need to beat. Having only won 4 races, compared to Lance Stroll's 14, Gunther needs to improve and really start the championship on the right foot, or else he is in danger of losing the championship.
